Businesses Need Support To Go Green - Öpik4.03.29pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 7th Sep 2007 Commenting on Grant Thornton's Environmental & Corporate Responsibility survey, Liberal Democrat Shadow Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Secretary, Lembit Öpik MP said: "British businesses are clearly making the effort to be green, but they need more support from the Government. "It is worrying that Britain has failed to develop cleaner and more efficient forms of energy generation than other major economies. "Recycling and energy conservation are cited as positive areas, but we now need to ensure green issues are considered with all business decisions, at operational level and in the boardroom. "Businesses must be given proper incentives to help stop climate chaos."
