10.09.26am BST (GMT +0100) Thu 3rd Jul 2003
Responding to the Statement made by Dawn Primarolo, Paymaster General, to the Treasury Select Committee announcing a review of the Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise, Norman Lamb MP, Liberal Democrat member of the Treasury Select Committee, said:
"This is a recognition of the extent of the crisis at the Inland Revenue.
"This review must not just to fiddle at the edges in order for the Government to appear to be doing something. Nothing should be ruled in and nothing ruled out."
