Lord Woolf's Appointment Cannot Be Merely Symbolic - Cable

Responding to the news that Lord Woolf is to head an independent review of business practices at BAE Systems, Liberal Democrat Deputy Leader, Vince Cable MP said: "This is welcome news, but has come far too late.

"Lord Woolf is obviously a man of unquestioned integrity, but if this is to be anything more than mere symbolism he has to be able to look at the past as well as the future.

"What we need from BAE are convincing answers about how they have operated since anti-bribery laws came into force in 2002."
