Long Overdue Company Law Reform Welcome - Lamb

9.20.00am GMT Wed 2nd Nov 2005

Commenting ahead of the anticipated publication tomorrow of the Company Law Reform Bill, Norman Lamb MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow DTI Secretary, said: "We welcome the publication of this long overdue piece of legislation. In particular we support the concept of 'thinking small companies first' in devising legislation.

"We also support the 'enlightened shareholder value' idea requiring company directors to take a more holistic view of the longevity of their companies, thereby formally acknowledging the responsibilities that companies have to all of their stakeholders."
