Brown Should Not Play Games With Budget Date

Responding to reports that the Budget announcement may be delayed, Matthew Taylor MP, Liberal Democrat Shadow Chancellor, said:

"Gordon Brown should not be playing games with the Budget date, let alone delaying it for a war that the Prime Minister still claims in not inevitable."

"This appears to be about media management rather than the vital needs of an economy that looks like is heading for difficulties."

"Its time that the budget date was set by clear rules and not by spindoctors."
